RoHol is located in Rosenau, on the outskirts of the Limestone Alps National Park. Measuring at around 20,000 hectares, the park has a relatively manageable size, but still, because of the Reichramiger Hintergebirge mountain range, counts as one of the largest closed forest areas in Austria. Here, you can also find one of the longest intact stream systems in the Eastern Alps. The Sensengebirge mountains establish the most northern outpost of the alpine Limestone Alps and the roughly 20 km long main ridge reaches its highest point at Hohen Nock, 1,964m above sea-level.
Sustaining and conserving the natural environment is of vital importance to all at RoHol, because who, if not ourselves, should take care of the continuing existence of our beautiful surroundings for future generations.
